Nema for Meeting action tracking

Keep the decisions and commitments from the meeting visible.

Post the meeting record in the channel where the work continues. Nema prepares the action list while participants confirm what they agreed to own.

An example in Slack Illustrative

@Nema, use the attached meeting notes to list decisions and actions. Include owners and dates only when the notes support them, and put unassigned or ambiguous items in a review section.

Meeting action list

  • The campaign owner will send the revised launch copy by Thursday.
  • The pricing-page date remains open because no owner was named.
  • The team chose the shorter onboarding flow; the notes link is attached.

A starting point for your team's review.

Begin with the meeting record

Supply the notes or transcript, meeting date, participant list, and purpose. State whether the record is complete. This workflow does not depend on Nema recording the call. It starts with material your team has approved for use.

If several note sets exist, identify the authoritative one or ask Nema to show conflicts. A participant's private notes may contain ideas that the group never accepted.

Separate decisions from discussion

Ask Nema to distinguish final decisions, proposed options, action items, and unresolved questions. Each decision should link to the passage that supports it. Each action should include an owner and due date only when the record names them.

Tentative language needs care. "Sam could draft the outline" does not mean Sam accepted the task. Put that item in the confirmation section rather than the assigned list.

Make gaps easy to resolve

Unassigned work, unclear dates, and conflicting statements should appear at the top of the Slack draft. Meeting participants can settle them while the conversation is fresh. Nema can then update the action list with confirmed answers.

Keep decisions tied to their context. A choice to delay one release should not become a permanent policy. The record should name the project, scope, and date.

Follow the work in Slack

Post the reviewed list in the project channel and ask owners to acknowledge their items. Later updates can mark work complete or explain a changed date. Nema can prepare a current summary without altering the original meeting record.

The team decides where durable tasks and decisions belong. Any write to a project system or knowledge base needs separate, approved access.

Start after one meeting

Choose a meeting with clear notes and a small action set. Compare every extracted decision and assignment with the record. Ask participants whether anything was misclassified. Improve the note-taking conventions when missing owners or vague dates repeatedly block follow-through.

Questions from project teams

Can Nema infer an owner from someone's role?

It should not. A likely owner can be proposed as a question, but the person or project lead must confirm the assignment.

What happens when a decision changes?

Record the new decision with its date and link it to the earlier one. Keep the history so readers understand which choice is current.

Does Nema add tasks to our tracker?

This example prepares a reviewed action list in Slack. Configure and verify any task-system writes separately.
