In Slack

It lives in the channel, not in a window of its own.

Mention it, message it, or keep talking in a thread it is already in. Nema works at Slack's pace, with the whole channel watching.

Mention it anywhere it is invited

Invite Nema to a channel and mention @Nema when you want something. It answers in the thread and streams as it works, so you watch it think instead of waiting for a wall of text. Stop it if it heads the wrong way.

Mention it in the middle of a long thread and it reads the messages it missed before answering.

@Nema what did we actually decide about the pricing page in this thread?

  2. NemaAPP4:21 PM

Three things, from the 38 messages above. Keep one plan. Show the credit packages on the page, not behind a sign-up. Sofia owns the copy and wants it by Thursday.

  3. Sofia Lund4:23 PM

That is it. Thursday still stands.

It can reply without a mention

In a thread it has already answered, Nema keeps listening and replies when a message asks for something. It stays quiet when nobody does.

In a channel, you can set listening rules in plain words, like "answer any question about the deploy freeze." Anyone in the channel can set a channel rule. Only a Slack admin sets a rule for the whole workspace. Switch a coworker to mention-only and it speaks only when mentioned, or in a thread it already answered in.

Is the deploy freeze this week or next? I can never remember.

  2. NemaAPP3:14 PM

Next week, the 24th to the 28th, per the #ops canvas. Owen owns the exception list.

  3. Renata Alves3:15 PM

    Perfect, thanks.

One coworker per channel, one for you

Any channel can have its own coworker, with its own instructions kept in the channel canvas and its own memory. #finance knows finance and #support knows support, and their notes stay apart.

Message Nema directly and you get a coworker that is yours alone. Its notes and instructions stay in your DM. Its approval cards are seen by nobody else.

It reads what you share

Drop a PDF, a screenshot or a text file into the thread and ask about it. Nema reads the text and the images, and pages through a long PDF. Files stay in Slack. Nema fetches a copy only when a tool reads one, sends what it read to the model like any other message, and drops the copy when the run ends.

@Nema is the Northwind invoice I just dropped here in line with the contract?

    📎northwind-inv-0432.pdf
  2. NemaAPP9:13 AM

Mostly. The rate matches the contract and the period is right. Page 2 adds a 1,200 onboarding fee the contract does not mention. Worth a question before you pay it.

Approvals happen in the thread

Anything risky raises a card with Approve and Deny. The person who asked, or a named approver, decides. Only the people who may decide see the card. The result posts back to the same thread, so the record sits where the work happened.

App Home and /nema

App Home links to the console and lists your own routines and follow-ups. Pause or resume a routine, or remove either. The /nema command creates and edits coworkers, lists them, lists the workspace's routines, and lets an admin edit the suggested apps.

Start with one channel.

Add Nema to Slack, invite it to one channel, and ask it something. $50 in free credits, no card up front. If you would rather see it first, we will walk you through it.
